Board Of Zoning Appeals
The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) was designed to grant variances from the Zoning Ordinance for hardship cases. Members are appointed by Circuit Court Judge of the City of Martinsville to serve five-year terms. Meetings are held as needed and are advertised to encourage citizen input. During the meetings, the petitioner will present the reasons for granting the variance to the Board. Requests for variance may be for relief from set backs or parking requirements, rezoning of property and special use permits.
