Thorough knowledge regarding the functions of hazards associated with underground utilities, including but not limited to water, sanitary sewer, electrical, storm sewer, gas, fiber optic network, and telephone. Knowledge of basic computer operations. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions related to the work, including traffic control, flagging and barricade requirements when working in the street.  Knowledge of utilities construction and civil engineering practices required.  Must have a valid Virginia Driver’s License.   Must live within 15 miles of the City limits.  H.S. Diploma or G.E.D required.  Associate degree in engineering technology or related field of study preferred.  Classification: Grade 9.  Open until filled.  Individuals interested in applying must thoroughly and accurately complete the City application and submit it to the Human Resources Office.  The City is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
