4-5 Year Old Basketball League
Instructional Basketball League tailored to
4-5 year olds. Practices on Monday evenings.Games played on Thursday evenings.

Whiffle Ball
Boys and girls ages 3-5 yr. olds. Children learn basic skills with a plastic ball and bat to prepare themselves to play baseball or softball one day. If interested, call 403-5140 and we will comprise a list of children to start the program

Youth Basketball
Coed ages 6-7, girl's ages 8-12, and boys 8-13. Age increments depends on number of registrations. Games played Saturday mornings at Martinsville Middle School. Practices during the week at local schools and armory.

MEN'S FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Join Martinsville Parks and Recreation, Henry County Parks and Recreation, & Smith River Sports Complex this Fall in our Men's Flag Football League. This is a great sport to get some great exercise and enjoy the beautiful September weather. Teams will consist of up to 18 players per team. A $380 league fee is due to H.C. Parks and Recreation. Games will be played at the Sports Complex in Axton. Ages 16 +. Deadline: Aug. 27.

3 on 3 Jam Men's Basketball Tournament
Join Martinsville Parks and Recreation & Henry Co. Parks and Recreation for our first annual Fall Jam 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament. This is open to both male and female teams. Each team is allowed up to 5 players. Game will be officiated. To register, call 403-5140. Round Robin format and then into a single elimination. Age Divisions: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-17, 18-30, & 31 +

Disc Golf "Singles" League
Must play twice a week with another person and turn your scorecards in each week by Friday to our office. Average will be recorded and results each week will be entered into forum on the www.wilsonparkdgc.com and reported to the Bulletin.

Smith Mountain Lake - On the Virginia Dare
Martinsville Senior Center will sponsor a trip to Smith Mountain Lake for an evening Murder Mystery Cruise on the Virginia Dare on Friday, October 15, 2010. You will enjoy a delicious meal aboard the Virginia Dare while trying to figure out "who done it".

9-1-1 Cell Phone Program
The Senior Center collects old cell phones and has them refurbished and then distributed to seniors for the purpose of calling 9-1-1 only. For more information on how to receive a phone please call the Senior Center at 403-5260.
Drop-In Health Screening - Amedysis of Martinsville will offer a free blood pressure screening the third Wednesday of each month from 10am-11am at the Senior Center. Call Senior Center at 403-5260 for more info.
NUTRITION INFORMATION
Come to the Senior Center on Oct. 20 at 10:15a.m. to listen to a short information program about how important it is to incorporate fruits and vegetables into your diet. Annual Fall Golf Tournament

Yellowstone National Park Winter Adventure
