Martinsville/Henry County TRIAD S.A.L.T. SEMINAR "A Lifetime of Savings Can Disappear Overnight"

On April 23, 2013, at the National Guard Armory in Martinsville, Virginia, The Martinsville/Henry County TRIAD S.A.L.T. (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) Council and the Martinsville Victim Witness Program will host a seminar entitled, "A Lifetime of Savings Can Disappear Overnight" presented by Deputy Doug Hatchell, a Crime Prevention Specialist, with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office in Boydton, Virginia. The seminar will begin at 1 p.m. and last until 3 p.m. This seminar is in conjunction with National Crime Victims' Rights Week which provides an opportunity to revisit our history, celebrate our achievements, and advance the progress of victims' rights.

Because millions of dollars are stolen every day from unsuspecting older adults by family members, caregivers and trusted professionals, we felt it would be helpful to host a local seminar to provide information and resources to the seniors to help them fight financial exploitation.

If you are a local business that has any pamphlets, brochures or other materials you would like to have included in the packets provided to the seniors during this seminar, please contact us. We are more than willing to stop by and get these items. Also, some businesses are providing other items to fill the packets with such as ink pens, calendars, notepads, etc. If you can provide any of these type items that would be greatly appreciated as well.

We look forward to observing 2013 National Crime Victims' Rights Week with you and thank you very much for your contributions to the community.

Sincerely,
Stephanie LaPrade
