Success Indicator: Increased occupancy in all City-owned and revenue-sharing sites.
Supporting Goals: Explore potential new ventures for job creations such as bio-medical, information technology, research, fiber optic, bio-energy, tourism, etc.
Performance Measures: Number jobs created, reduction in electric rates, growth of tax base, reduction in unemployment rate and landfill tipping fees.
Lead Responsibility: Council, MHCEDC, Chamber of Commerce and CPEG
The City negotiated a five-year extension with First Piedmont Corp. to operate the solid waste transfer station. Tipping fees were reduced an average of $2.53 per ton through 2020. (Chris Morris - July 27, 2016)
