On Monday, November 4, 2024, a Grand Jury issued 30 indictments related to the distribution of illegal drugs. The Martinsville Circuit Court sealed those 30 indictments on 14 individuals until the individuals could be arrested.
On Thursday, November 7, 2024, members of the Martinsville Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police, the United States Marshal’s Service and assisted by the Martinsville Sheriff’s Office and the Martinsville Henry County 911 Center set out to arrest the narcotic’s warrants. Currently, 23 of those indictments have been served.
These indictments resulted from the Martinsville Police Department’s continuing effort to fight the distribution of illegal drugs and the harm they do to our community. Each arrest was made possible by the strong partnership that has been developed between the community and the Martinsville Police Department.
The department recognizes the hard work of the Martinsville Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office during this process and thanks the community and law enforcement agencies who assisted in this operation.
