MARTINSVILLE ANNOUNCES GOVERNMENT ACADEMY FOR CITIZENS
The city of Martinsville is proud to announce the establishment of a Government Academy for its citizens.
The Government Academy will offer our citizens the opportunity to learn how their local government works and what they can do to become more involved. The goal of the academy is to have better informed citizens who will bring their knowledge of how city government works back to their respective neighborhoods.
The academy is a six week informational program geared to learning about the government process in the city of Martinsville. Each week city government department representatives will discuss various topics. Enrollment is limited to 25 participants, 18 years of age or older. Martinsville residents and business owners will be given first priority. The sessions begin Thursday, January 20th and will meet in Council Chambers from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
