Martinsville City registered voters will be receiving new voter cards in the mail due to redistricting number changes only:
- Congressional unchanged, remains as is 9th District
- Senate now being 7th District (previously 20th District)
- House of Delegates now being 48th District (previously 16th District)

REGISTERING TO VOTE
To register to vote in the City of Martinsville, fill out a Virginia Voter Registration Application, sign and date, and mail the application to P.O. Box 1323 Martinsville, VA 24114 or take the application to 55 West Church Street, Office 122, Martinsville:
The Virginia Department of Elections provides an online portal for voter registration if you have a current Virginia driver's license.

ABSENTEE VOTING
EARLY VOTING
You can vote early at the Registrar’s Office beginning 45 days before Election Day and ending the Saturday before Election Day. You do not have to have a reason or fill out an application to vote early. You must provide your name and address and show an acceptable form of ID or sign an ID Confirmation Statement.
APPLYING TO VOTE ABSENTEE BY MAIL
Download the Virginia Absentee Ballot Application (PDF) and complete all requested personal information. You must sign your application.
You may contact our office at 276-403-5122 to have an Absentee Ballot Application mailed to you.
Your completed Absentee Ballot Application may be returned by mail, email or fax no later than 5 pm on the eleventh day before the election.
You may also submit an on-line Absentee Ballot Application if you have a current Virginia driver's license.
DROP OFF LOCATIONS
If you choose not to mail your ballot, you may drop off your completed absentee ballot inside the Voter Registration Office at 55 W Church ST., Office 122, Martinsville or in the dropbox located outside of the Office during normal office hours of 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. The Office will also be open the two Saturdays preceding each election from 9 am to 5 pm. You may drop off your completed voted absentee ballot inside your polling place on Election Day between 6 am and 7 pm.
MILITARY AND OVERSEAS VOTERS
All military and overseas citizens should complete the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA (PDF)) to request an absentee ballot. Additional information for military and overseas voters can be found on the Virginia Department of Elections website.
