Senior Center

The Martinsville Senior Center operates its programs and services without regard to race, color, and national origin in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. If you feel you are being denied participation in or being denied benefits of the transit services provided by the Martinsville Senior Center or otherwise being discriminated against because of your race, national origin, gender, age, or disability please fill out the provided forms below and return them to the Martinsville Senior Center.

Activities

The Senior Center is hosting the following weekly activities:

  • Bible Study: Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • Nutrition Site: Wednesdays, 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Bingo: 1st Thursday, 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Senior Center Transportation Service Guidelines

Eligibility

Transportation services are available to:

  • Seniors (age 60 and older) residing within the City of Martinsville.

  • Physically challenged non-seniors living within the City who have no other means of transportation.

An assessment is required to determine eligibility and any special transportation needs. To apply for service, please contact the Martinsville Senior Center at 276-403-5260.

Hours of Operation

Monday – Friday

  • Initial Pick-Up: Begins at 8:00 a.m. (Please schedule appointments for 8:30 a.m. or later.)

  • Service Ends: 2:30 p.m. – Transportation concludes for the day.

The Senior Center and transportation services will be closed when the City of Martinsville offices are closed, including holidays and inclement weather days.

Service Area

Transportation is provided within the City limits of Martinsville.

Limited service may be available to Collinsville and Ridgeway for doctor’s appointments only, depending on driver and vehicle availability.

Note: Daily transportation outside the Martinsville and Henry County area is not provided.
