Overview

Originally established to review and decide appeals to the requirements of the Uniform Statewide Building Code as enforced by the City, the Board of Appeals consists of five members who serve five-year terms, all appointed by City Council.

The Board has the authority to decide matters relating to:

  • The City’s Erosion and Sediment Control Ordinance
  • Flood Plain Ordinances
  • Fire Prevention Code

Decisions and actions made by the Board are issued by resolution. Meetings are scheduled on an as-needed basis to consider specific administrative decisions and interpretations of ordinances under its authority.
