Overview
The functions of the Board include selecting and appointing the director of the library, establishing general policy, and planning the effect of city, county, state or national library legislation on service. It is the duty of the Board to obtain adequate funds from appropriations and gifts and to be responsible for their expenditure, attend Board meetings regularly, serve as a liaison between the library and the community, and work for higher standards of library service on all levels. The legal responsibility is vested in the Board.
